“Have you been discipled?”
This question sits at the center of what The River Community Church is about: “…helping people discover and strengthen their journey with Jesus.” We believe that following Jesus is a journey toward a destination not about your present location.
The journey is about learning to live life better and experience more of Jesus in each moment of our day in light of the good news of Jesus.
We believe the journey is best done with others by intentionally inviting someone to journey with you.
This shared journey is about taking our priorities and reshaping them with Biblical priorities. Paul, one of the first pastors, describes it as a longing:
“I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” [romans 1.11-12]

Discipleship Opportunities?
1. one-on-one: walk with a mentor through the gospel centered life curriculum.
2. a group of 2, 3 or 4: walk with a group of people through the gospel centered life curriculum.
3. become a discipler: want to disciple someone? A three session training is offered for those who have completed a discipleship relationship. The training will evaluate and prepare a person to disciple another.
4. STAND: a six session class about helping people declare their trust in Jesus.
5. Launch 101: an “I’m IN” class. The River’s membership class is a three session class that helps people connect with the community and mission of The River Community Church.

what do you study as you journey through the gospel centered life?
The gospel centered life is a nine-session curriculum that walks through the foundations of following Jesus. Each session looks like the following:
Begin by praying for each other.
A discussion on a Bible passage relating to the theme of the session.
An article is read and discussed keying in on how the subject challenges us in our journey with Jesus.
An exercise is then explained in preparation for living what we have learned in the week that follows.
