HOW CAN LOOSE CHANGE HELP PROVIDED CLEAN WATER?

It can when The River Community Church, Alternatives Unlimited and Africa International University work together.

The River Community Church values cooperating with others to make a difference in our town and beyond. One of the ways we do this is through our water project. The goal of the water project is to collect loose change throughout December to help provide clean water.

Partner One: The River collects their loose change and brings it to our Sunday Morning Celebration Gathering.

Partner Two: Our friends at Alternatives Unlimited [http://www.alternativesnet.org/] count all the loose change for us. This helps them learn life skills.

Partner Three: The money is then sent to Africa International University [http://www.africainternational.edu/] who is providing a safe house for woman struggling in relationship discourse. Our funds re helping them provided clean water for this project.

Another way The River collects funds is by participating in area festivals like the town of Douglas’ Octoberfest to sell bottled water. All the proceeds from the sold water are used to provide clean water.
